G1 for 30 Days

I've bought the G1 Android phone from T-Mobile in the U.S., and I have 30 days to figure if I wanna keep it.

If you have feedback, I'm at marc@disquiet.com.

By the way, this is my main website: disquiet.com. It's broadly about personal technology, but specifically to the extent that technology mediates music and sound and related art.

reading, if not writing

All of which said, the phone was a great experience in its first full day of work. Easy access to multiple email accounts, great keyboard (if somewhat limited in its use, due to absence of .doc support for the moment), superb web-browsing, useful apps (especially the Twidroid one).

Though, one thing about the web-browsing: there is a pair of helpful + and - symbols at the bottom of the browser, and they disappear soon enough, but reappear whenever you’re navigating. The problem being that if you read quickly, say if you’re scrolling through a New York Times book review, they’re constantly on the screen, which is annoying.

And speaking of writing, still wish there was an Evernote app…
